Investigation for General Misconception on Vision or Refractive Error about Middle and High School Students

Abstract
|
|
|
The vision and eye care was a matter of common interest and the information about vision or refractive error was propagated widely due to marvellous development of mass media.
But a large number of people had general misconception about illumination, reading distance or posture, watching TN., spectacle, contact lens, etc.
So the author posed the easily misconceivable questions about vision and eye care from 4816 rural & urban high school students and analysed the data.
The results as follows:
1. The mean percentage of correct answer to the question was 42.09%.
2. The ratio of correct answer was inversely proportional to the school grade but not related to the sex or residence.
3. The group of slightly poor vision had worst record.
